The Latest On Storm Damage Around NE Texas And SE Oklahoma

The strong to severe storms that roared through Northeast Texas Sunday night left thousands without power and many others with debris to clean up. Power companies spent Monday restoring power throughout the area. There were several instances of roofs being torn off and multiple streets and roads were closed because of downed trees. There were no reports of any injuries.

A severe storm system Sunday night left at least three people dead in Oklahoma. One of those fatalities was recorded west of Valliant in McCurtain County when a tree fell on a mobile home trapping three people inside. Two of the people were rescued, but the third person died. In another incident, two teenaged boys died in Weleetka of carbon monoxide poisoning. They were using a portable generator in their mobile home because the power had gone out.
