Uniformed Paris police officers will be issued free gate passes to the upcoming Red River Valley Fair and will have the discretion to give them to citizens and children during contacts. The passes are intended as a conversation starter for officers and the community in a positive manner. Most police / citizen contacts take place when something horrible has taken place or an incident that causes concern for all involved and the free passes to the fair can lead people being more familiar with and trusting of their public servants.
