The Pistol Annies’ Setup In Today’s Nashville Roundup

Old Dominion lead singer Matthew Ramsey tells The Journal Star that the band’s songs are a representation of their personalities. “I think that’s just our personalities coming out. That’s who we are like people: we’re funny, witty, goofy guys, but there’s maybe that hint of sadness. That’s the music that we love, too, that can kind of stir up all those emotions. We don’t really take ourselves too seriously so that probably comes across.”

Miranda Lambert tells the Morning Call that she considers ‘It All Comes Out In The Wash’ a fun song. “It was chosen as the first single because it’s kind of fun to me. It’s like I call it ‘classic Miranda.’ It’s kitschy and it’s got some, you know, sarcasm in it … I guess an easy way to put it is things happens, you know what I mean?”

Dierks Bentley tells E! News that he is a Taylor Swift fan. “I’ve always been a huge Taylor Swift fan. I love her songwriting. I love her drive and persistence and determination. And I’ve known her since she was first new to town. I’ve always been a fan and always will be a fan. And I’m always curious to see how she’s reinventing herself, what kind of sound she’s going for and how she’s progressed as a songwriter.”

Woman’s Day magazine claims Keith Urban is allegedly unhappy about Nicole Kidman starring with Alexander Skarsgard in a new movie called ”The Northman”. A source tells the magazine, Urban was angry when Kidman gave Skarsgard a congratulatory kiss while making his way to the stage to collect an acting award for Big Little Lies. That really rocked Keith in a big way and it’s no secret their marriage was badly impacted by it. Poor Keith was humiliated but he moved past it on the basis that it was a one-off. He bought Nicole’s promise that Alex is, and will only ever be, a friend. But the insecurity and pain never really went away, and the fact Alex is back in her life again is yet another huge blow.”

Miranda Lambert tells the NY Times that her Pistol Annies bandmates set her up with her now-husband, Brendan McLoughlin.  “Our record came out the day after Halloween, and we did Good Morning America. My husband was doing security there for the show. My girlfriends, the Annies, saw him and knew I might be ready to hang out with someone. They invited him to our show behind my back. They plucked him for me. Now the Pistol Annies have three husbands, two ex-husbands, three children, a stepson, and 23 animals. We’ve done a lot in nine years!”

Brad Paisley’s wife, Kimberly, posted a picture of him removing a large snake from their backyard. She captioned the Instagram shot with, “I love him so much. This is when he calmly picked up a snake and relocated it away from us and into the safe woods. Happy birthday [Brad Paisley]. Thank you for your leadership, bravery, ingenuity, creativity, humor. All of it.”

Lauren Alaina tells People magazine that she has been competing on Dancing With the Stars with a broken rib. “I fractured the one on the left the first week of the show and I haven’t had these X-rayed, but they don’t feel great.”
