The State Board Of Education Nixes LGBTQ Education In Health Classes

The Texas State Board of Education rejected proposals to teach students about LGBTQ issues in public school health classes. It is the first time since 1997 the education board is revising the health and sex-ed curriculum. The majority of board members voted no. The Texas Freedom Network says they caved to peer pressure. Districts are allowed the leeway to include additional topics they feel would benefit their students.
