Saturday is another SNIP event. Get a low-cost voucher to have your pet spayed or neutered INSIDE at the RRV Fairgrounds starting at 9:00 am. There will also be lost cost shots available. If you’re getting the shots bring your pet, but you do not need to bring your pet to get a voucher. Also, Adopt a pet today, give a dog or cat a forever home! Head over to the Paris Animal Shelter Saturday.

Friday (Feb 23) the Lamar County Human Resources Council is having their annual Mardi Gras at the Love Civic Center to benefit Meals on Wheels. There will be a live and silent auction plus a cajun dinner catered by Michael Perry. Live entertainment from the David Whiteman Band.  Individual tickets are $75 apiece and tables are $600 and seat eight. Call 903-784–2580 for tickets.

Join the National Wild Turkey Federation for their annual banquet in Clarksville at the McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church. Friday (Feb 23). Doors open at 6:00 pm and dinner starts at 7:30. Saturday (Feb 24) 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the Powderly Volunteer Fire Department Chili Supper at Aaron Parker Elementary gym. Chili supper with all the fixin’s with a  live auction and silent auction. Cost is $5 at the door.

The pre-release screening of the feature film “As Far As the Eye Can See,” is 2:00 pm Sunday (Feb 25) downtown Plaza Theatre. Tickets available at BrownPaperTickets.com. Paden Fallis, screenwriter/producer of the film, will speak after the screening.  A meet-and-greet reception for Mr. Fallis will follow the screening.
