Dylan’s Drivers provides a safe and reliable service within Lamar County, Texas, by providing free, non-judgemental, confidential rides to individuals who are rendered incapable of or lack access to safe transportation. Their hours of operations are Thursday be from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am, Friday and Saturday nights from 10:00 pm until 3:00 am. Call 903.905.4959

Adopt a pet today- give a dog or cat a forever home! Head over to the Paris Animal Shelter or look for the Lamar County Humane Association in front of Petco on Saturdays. And if you have a pet, have them spayed or neutered.

Cooper ISD Head Start is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. The income-based program is designed for eligible children three and four years old. Openings are limited, so parents are encouraged to come by Cooper Elementary and fill out an application or call 903 395-2111 ext 3864 for more information. (5/15)

The Kiamichi Independent Bikers present their annual Rally and Bike Show May 11-13, four miles west of Idabel on Hwy. 70. There’ll be live music, a free BBQ dinner, Bike games, bike show and a poker run. Free tent camping on 22 plus acres of wooded campsites plus parking and showers available. It’s a family atmosphere, all ages welcome. $25 donation per person all weekend. It is for ages 13-18-year-old and 12 & under get in free!

The Fourth Annual North Lamar National Honor Society Scholarship Color Run has been set for Saturday, May 12.  The event will take place at North Lamar High School and will include a 5K and a One-Mile Color Fun Run.

Pre-registration fees for the 5K and One-Mile Color Fun Run are $25 for adults and $15 for kids.  Entry fees the day of the event will be $30 for adults and $20 for kids. A commemorative T-shirt is guaranteed to pre-registered participants. Awards will be given to the top three 5K males and females and to the overall male and female for the Color Fun Run.

Registration forms may be found at www.northlamar.net or in the North Lamar High School main office. The last day to pre-register is Wednesday, May 2. Race day registration begins at 8:00 am with the 5K starting at 9:00 am. Immediately following will be the One-Mile Color Fun Run. Come out to Cox Field on Saturday, May 12th between 10:00 and 3:00 for a bright spring day of aviation fun at the Paris Fly-in! The Paris Fly-In has exhibits for the entire family, delicious food, and airplanes that will fly in for the day. Admission and parking are FREE!

Here’s what’s lined up so far:
• Helicopter rides
• Take a tour of a Texas Air National Guard CH-47 Chinook
• Medical Air Evacuation helicopter on display
• Civil Air Patrol exhibit and aircraft on display
• Paris Remote Control Plane Club demonstrations
• See lots of airplanes and meet some of the pilots
• Bounce house for the kids
• Food: Angie’s Concession; Chocolate Kettle; Kona Ice

So plan to come out to Cox Field on Saturday, May 12th between 10:00 and 3:00 for the Paris Fly-in! Cox Field, 6780 Collier Drive Just east of Highway 271 South.

2018 Balloon and Musical Festival free hot air balloon crew training. This is a great opportunity to learn more about hot air ballooning, meet new people and have a great time. The pilots are very friendly and love to share knowledge about what they do. Jim and Lisa Williams will be here for the first training session scheduled for May 12, 2:00 pm at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ. The training is free but must be 18 or over and must pre-register because space is limited. All attendees are asked to bring their own gloves.
