Adopt a pet today- give a dog or cat a forever home! Head over to the Paris Animal Shelter or look for the Lamar County Humane Association in front of Petco on Saturdays. And if you have a pet, have them spayed or neutered.

In a continuing effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, two families from Lamar County, the Hallfords and the Faulkners, are hosting a lemonade and lunch stand on Saturday, June 2 from 10:30 am to 3 pm at Tractor Supply Co. in Paris, TX during Lemonade Days. The second annual lemonade and lunch stand will honor childhood cancer heroes Madilyn Hallford and Sierra Faulkner and benefit childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).

Reno Parks and Trail Committee presents Movies in the Park at Kiwanis Park in Reno. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, come out and enjoy some great movies this summer. All showings start at 8:45 and concessions will be available.

2018 Highway 82/287 Yard Sale…June 1 – June 2. A yearly event centered around a traveling yard sales route that covers 387 miles along the Red River Valley highways during the first Friday and Saturday in June. The event has been held for 15 years and is growing annually. The event covers towns and cities along the Texas/Oklahoma border that share the Red River as a boundary. Join in the fun and find your treasured yard sale item. Maps are available at a central location in every participating town that show travelers how to find the yard sales in that area. Junk in the Trunk event is held in Paris, Texas the same weekend and is staged on their Main Street. Other towns hold similar events so there are lots to see and do as you explore the sales.
