Three Killed At Alba

Sunday (Apr 1) there was a one-vehicle fatal crash at approximately 2:35 am on US-69 at Alba. Kenneth Louis Lewers, 22, of Alba was the driver of a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. He was traveling southeast on US-69 at an unsafe speed. He moved on the improved shoulder, overcorrected to the left causing the vehicle to go into a side skid. His pickup traveled across the roadway and then into the northeast ditch where it struck a large tree. Paul Foley pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Foley also pronounced his passengers Dawn Lee Fitzpatrick, 18, of Alba and Hayley Fitzpatrick, 16, of Winnsboro, picture not available, dead at the scene. Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory has their bodies. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
