Three Paris High School Students Advance To State

Three Paris High School students will advance to state Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) following area competition Monday at Region 8 ESC in Pittsburg.

Earning first place in their events were Lexie West, sophomore, in Organizational Leadership; Zeel Patel, junior, in Personal Finance and Ashton Hostetler, senior, in Help Desk. Also placed at area competition were Skylar Smallwood, junior, fifth place in agribusiness, and Destinee Gunn, sophomore, fifth place in a job interview. In addition, Smallwood was named the club’s Who’s Who for the local chapter and president.

It is the first year of membership and competition for the revived PHS chapter as FBLA develops students for leadership roles in their community as business professionals. Paris High School Chapter adviser is Cheryl LaRue.

First-place winners will advance to the state FBLA competition March 23-25 in Galveston.
