There have been 82 home3 runs in 28 playoff games this year through Wednesday. The Athletics and Astros combined to connect seven times as the A’s avoided a sweep with a 9-7 victory. Houston will make another attempt in Game 4 of the ALCS today at Dodger Stadium.

The Atlanta Braves try to reach the NL Championship Series for the first time since the day s of Chipper Jones, the Big Three, and Bobby Cox when they face the Marlins in Game 3. The last time the Braves made the NLCS 2qs 2001.

The New York Yankees face elimination in Game 4 of their AL Division Series against rival Tampa Bay. The Yankees lost 8-4/

Cody Bellinger and the NL West champion Dodgers can sweep San Diego in Game 3 and advance to the NL Championship Series for the fourth time in five seasons. LA barely held on for a 6-5-win Wednesday night.

OLYMPICS
President Sebastian Coe stood at the edge of the track at Tokyo’s new National Stadium. He repeated his support for athletes’ right to advocate for social or racial justice at next year’s postponed Olympics. Coe is in direct opposition to Rule 50 of the Olympic Charter, which says “no kind of demonstration or political, religious or racial propaganda is permitted in any Olympic sites, venues or other areas.”

HIGH SCHOOL
Tyler High canceled the Nacogdoches sub-varsity and varsity football games for Thursday and Friday due to possible exposure of COVID-19 within the Tyler program. Nac travels to Bryan to play Rudder High School Friday night at 7:30.

All Saints Trojans and Arlington Grace Prep won’t happen Friday either. Arlington will face Bishop Dunne instead.
