The Mt Vernon girls take on the Brock Lady Eagles at San Antonio’s Alamodome Thursday at 3:00 pm. You can listen to the game on K-Lake 97.7 and the Internet. Brock is 32-6 while Mt Vernon Lady Tigers are 26-9. The UIL pars the first games in the playoff by best and lowest records. If Mt Vernon wins, it will put the Lady Tigers against the winner of the Vanderbilt Industrial and Marlin winner. The championship game is Saturday morning at 10:00. Vanderbilt is 34-5, and Marlin is 31-8. MaxPreps ranks Brock is rated 56 in the state, and Mt Vernon is ranked 124. Brock’s roster carries three seniors out of ten. Mt Vernon has 13 on their list and four seniors. Brock has scored 242 points in the playoffs allowing their five opponents 191. Mt Vernon’s girls had score 41 more points and given up four more points defensively than Brock with 283 to 195. The winner of this game should take the State Title for 3A Girls Basketball.
