From the Titus County Sheriff’s Office
Titus County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two separate burglaries of the Star Mart Store located at the corner of State Highway 49 and FM 1735. The first burglary occurred shortly after 1:00 on Monday morning, November 9, and the second burglary occurred after 1:00 am on Friday, November 13.
Two suspects gained entry into the closed store by breaking out the central entrance door glass. Once inside, the suspect stole numerous items, including a still-undetermined amount of cigarettes.
Distinctive clothing worn by one suspect includes a blue mask with what appears to be a red bandana over his head, a large blue shirt, white gloves, and red jogging pants with two white stripes down the legs.
The other suspect is wearing a red hood and a dark shirt over a red long-sleeved shirt, and there is a large white logo printed on the front of the dark-colored shirt. The video shows the suspects with a blue and a black backpack with white printing on the black one.
Investigators think a motorist passed by FM 1735 as the suspect ran between the store and adjacent Mechanic’s shop. The motorist was slowing to turn on to Highway 49, and the suspects were likely making their way to a waiting vehicle parked near the nearby storage unit facility.
Titus County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who has information in this case and several other recent incidents generally in the Chapel Hill Area, to contact the Sheriff’s Office and speak with an investigator.
