Titus County Deputies Investigating Murder, Attempted Murder, Suicide

Titus County Deputies are investigating a murder-suicide and attempted murder that occurred in Winfield over the weekend. Investigators say 27-year-old Edgar Javier Martinez Sierra found a man and a woman on his couch, grabbed a tool and severely beat both people. Reportedly, 32-year-old Maria De Jesus Castro DeLeon, of Mt Vernon, died at the scene and 24-year-old David Landaverde Diaz, of Sherman, is in critical condition. Sierra’s vehicle was later found at a construction site at Mt Vernon where he had hung himself.
