Statement On Titus County Sheriff’s Facebook Page

On Thursday evening, February 27, 2020, Titus County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence located on the 200-block of East Magnolia in Mount Pleasant. While conducting the initial search pursuant to the first warrant, sheriff’s deputies discovered a significant amount of evidence establishing probable cause that methamphetamine and other illegal items were likely located generally throughout the residence. Based on those observations, another search warrant for illegal controlled substances was obtained followed by a more detailed search of the residence.

During the continued search of the property, sheriff’s deputies also discovered a handgun that had been reported stolen out of Camp County, earlier this year. In addition to suspected methamphetamine, deputies discovered a large number of new and used syringes. Of grave concern to deputies, was the close proximity of these illegal activities occurring adjacent to E. C. Brice Elementary School located only across the street from the offending residence.

The following persons were arrested at the residence:

29-year-old Micheal Joseph Reichman of Mount Pleasant was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, in an amount less than one gram, a State Jail Felony. Reichman was also arrested for the State Jail Felony Offense of Theft of a Firearm and on a warrant for the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Harassment.

32-year-old Ricky Griffin of Sulphur Springs was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, in an amount less than one gram, a State Jail Felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.

It’s common knowledge among area drug dealers and drug offenders generally, that The Titus County Sheriff’s Office Deputies are vigilantly aggressive in interdicting illegal narcotics activities in all of Titus County.

Titus County Sheriff Tim Ingram would also like these offenders to realize when they conduct these activities in near proximity to our school children, he and his deputies are doubly aggressive. Sheriff Ingram said, “We will continue to use all legal and ethical tools and methods available to us in order to protect our citizens, more especially, our children, from those who elect to engage in illegal drug activities.” “If you do it, we WILL come,” said Ingram.
