Everett Elementary second and third grader enjoyed stagecoach rides as part of the Heritage Day activities on Friday.

To wrap up Texas Public Schools Week, Everett Elementary held a Heritage Day with everything Texas.  The second and third graders dressed as cowboys and cowgirls and spent the afternoon going from station to station after eating hot dogs cooked by NL Board Member Stephen ‘Red’ Holmes.

The Texas Heritage Day activities included Texas pioneer music by Melissa Jones and Eddie Fitzgerald, horticulture and FFA show animals by the NL FFA, butter churning byJoretta Sanders, pioneer woman by Darenda Babb, horse care by Jacob Akard and Lara Fendley, stagecoach rides by David Hart, and a sheriff presentation by members of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department.  Members of the Antique Tractor Club demonstrated hay baling, rope making, and showed antique tractors.
