Trial Underway For NE Texas Man Charged With Killing UT-Student

Jury selection began in Austin Monday for a Northeast Texas man accused of killing a female University of Texas student in 2016. Meechaiel Criner, of Texarkana, is accused of killing 18-year-old Haruka Weiser as she walked to her dorm room. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty in the case because Criner was 17 when the slaying happened.
