One person was killed in a crash involving a loaded gasoline tanker truck and a pickup at the intersection of SH 98 and U.S. Highway 70, about two miles east of Valliant. The tanker was on its side and spilled about 500 gallons of gasoline into west ditch of Highway 70. Troopers evacuated the area from 1,000 feet around the wreck, and traffic was routed off the highway for several hours. The deceased has not been identified.
