The California Highway Patrol arrested Los Angeles wide receiver Demarcus Robinson on suspicion of driving under the influence. The trooper observed Robinson driving more than 100 mph on US-101 northbound and arrested him at approximately 5:13 am on Monday in Woodland Hills, California. The arrest came hours after he caught a touchdown in the Rams’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on “Sunday Night Football.”

Mount Pleasant High School graduate and now World Series Champion pitcher Michael Kopech will be in the Mount Pleasant auditorium on Tuesday, November 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, taking pictures and signing autographs. A minimum donation of $5 for each photo or autograph will benefit local charities for underprivileged children.

Two free throws with 0.8 seconds left in Monday night’s game separated the East Texas A&M University men’s basketball team from the Stonehill Skyhawks. The Skyhawks defended home court with a 67-65 win. After visiting six states over their first seven games, the Lions’ next five games are in Texas. The Lions host Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday at 1:00 pm. The game is part of the ETAMU SAAC’s Toy Drive. Everyone who brings a toy to support Commerce’s Lil Angels will receive free admission.

HIGH SCHOOL

Tune in on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, and see several Mt Pleasant High School Cheerleaders in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City! They will perform with Spirit of American Cheer. The parade will air on NBC, Peacock, and Telemundo at 8:30 am.

The Sulphur Springs Wildcats are inviting fans to its Thanksgiving Day Practice on Thursday at 9:00 am in Prim Stadium. They will have food, fellowship, and football as the ‘Cats prepare for the Regional Semi-Finals against Alvarado in Mesquite. The Booster Club provides donuts and coffee.
