Evgeni Dadonov (GEF-gene-knee / DAH-don-NO) and Jamie Benn each scored to help the Dallas Stars beat the Utah Hockey Club 2-1 on Monday night for their third straight win. Casey DeSmith stopped 34 shots for Dallas, which has won eight of its last 11 games.

COLLEGE

Colton Smith, 21, a student from Orange, was hit with a ‘postgame penalty’ for his off-the-field actions. He allegedly rained down beer and spit that struck an officer with the Texas A&M University Police Department only minutes after the football game ended. Smith of Orange, celebrating the UT burnt orange victory at Texas A&M on Saturday night, found himself heading out of the stadium in handcuffs for a ride to jail, following his alleged actions only seconds after the game ended.

ETAMU

The East Texas A&M University track and field teams have announced their 2024-25 schedule on Monday afternoon. The Lions will compete in nine meets during the indoor season and 12 during the outdoor season, beginning with a small batch competing this weekend.

The Lion’s volleyball team has announced the additions of four newcomers this fall for the 2025 season. All four are incoming first-year students and will be eligible to compete for the Lions next fall for coach Noe Morales, who enters his third season as the Lion volleyball coach.

The East Texas A&M University softball team has signed four newcomers for this fall’s 2025-26 academic year.

The College Sports Communicators named the Lion’s soccer scholar-athletes Melissa Storey and Kristen Sueltz (slots) to the Academic All-District team.

COWBOYS

Former Dallas Cowboys safety Darren Woodson is hosting a meet-and-greet at Choctaw Casino and Resort in Grant on Sunday, December 15, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Woodson is a Cowboys Ring of Honor member and the team’s all-time leading tackler. He was selected to the Pro Bowl five times and won three Super Bowl rings. Woodson will take photos with fans and hand out signed items while supplies last.

Los equipos de atletismo de la Universidad East Texas A&M anunciaron su calendario 2024-25 el lunes por la tarde. Los Leones competirán en nueve encuentros durante la temporada bajo techo y 12 durante la temporada al aire libre, comenzando con un pequeño grupo compitiendo este fin de semana.

El equipo de voleibol del León ha anunciado las incorporaciones de cuatro recién llegados este otoño para la temporada 2025. Los cuatro son estudiantes de primer año y serán elegibles para competir por los Leones el próximo otoño por el entrenador Noé Morales, quien ingresa a su tercera temporada como entrenador de voleibol de los Leones.

El equipo de softbol de la Universidad East Texas A&M ha firmado a cuatro recién llegados para el año académico 2025-26 de este otoño.

Los Comunicadores de Deportes Universitarios nombraron a las estudiantes-atletas de fútbol de los Leones, Melissa Storey y Kristen Sueltz (ranuras) para el equipo académico del distrito.

El ex safety de los Dallas Cowboys, Darren Woodson, será el anfitrión de un encuentro en Choctaw Casino and Resort en Grant el domingo 15 de diciembre, de 3:30 a 5:00 pm.
