TWC Says Job Searches Must Begin November 1

Texans who are receiving unemployment benefits will need to be prepared to show that they’re looking for work, beginning November 1. The state dropped the work-search requirement in March as businesses across Texas shut down because of the pandemic, and the unemployment rate went up dramatically. TWC says unemployed people will continue to receive their benefits but will have to show they’re making an active effort to find a new job. The commission says employment opportunities are beginning to bounce back.
