Two Children Died Over Weekend

Van Zandt County Sheriff’s deputies with other officials searched for Able Lunsford, age two, a missing child near Ben Wheeler last Friday afternoon. They found him deceased just after 4:00 pm. The Sheriff’s Office reminded parents to keep a close watch on children around water.

Dallas Fire and Rescue worked the death of a child left in a vehicle Sunday around 4:00 pm. It was on Shiloh and near LBJ Freeway. Paramedics transported the three-year-old to Baylor at White Rock where medical staff reported the child dead. Last month a Melissa six-month-old died when her father left her for hours inside his car. Police arrested the dad on a manslaughter charge. In a few hours, the temperature can reach temperatures 45 to 50 degrees higher than the air outside a vehicle.
