Two Dead In East Texas Collision

Two people were killed in a collision Friday afternoon about seven miles south of Jacksonville. Dead at the scene was 40-year-old Susan Lynnette Baker, of Troup, and a 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in her car. State Troopers report that Baker’s car failed to negotiate a curve and skidded sideways into the other lane of traffic where it was hit by a pickup. The driver of the pickup was not injured. The wreck remains under investigation.
