
NHISD Teacher, Coach, Bus Driver
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene of a crash this morning on Hwy 19 north of Sulphur Springs. The vehicles involved were a Hopkins County Special Ed-Co-Op Bus and a Ford Mustang. There were NO students on the bus at the time of the crash that occurred at about 6:45. State Troopers say the school bus was southbound on Hwy 19 and the Mustang was northbound when the Mustang crossed over the center line and collided head on with the bus. Those killed were identified as the driver of the bus, 52 year old Perry Wayne Evans of Sulphur Springs, and the driver of the Mustang, 33 year old Larry Brent Resendiz, of Hopkins County. A teacher’s aide on the bus was treated and released for minor injuries.
