Two Hospitalized, One in Custody After Sulphur Springs Stabbings

Two brothers, one 16 and one 21 were stabbed early Saturday morning after a disturbance in the 500 block of Church Street in Sulphur Springs.  A man, identified as 25 year old Meldrick DeWayne Rowland turned himself  in at the Hopkins County Sheriff’s office and remains in custody on  unrelated local misdemeanor warrants. One of the brothers was flown to Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler and the other to Medical City in Plano. Their conditions have not been disclosed.  A motive has not yet been determined.
