Two Injured In Police Chase

Wake Village PD Facebook Page

At around 2:30 am, Monday, December 3, 2018, Wake Village Patrol Officer Jeremy Johnson was patrolling the north side of Wake Village in an attempt to thwart car burglars when Officer Johnson located a suspicious vehicle. Johnson observed the driver make a traffic violation leading Johnson to attempt to make a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield to Johnson. Johnson pursued the vehicle into Nash and onto eastbound Interstate 30. The suspect vehicle exited onto Mall Drive and while exiting onto Richmond Rd, the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll multiple times. The driver fled from the crash and was pursued on foot by Officer Johnson across east and westbound lanes of Interstate 30 until Johnson was able to take the driver into custody without further incident. Back up units began arriving and located a black male that had been ejected from the vehicle and was in critical condition. Two pistols and stolen property were located in and around the wrecked vehicle. At this time, both suspects are receiving care at a local hospital. The driver is in stable condition while the passenger is in critical condition. This incident is currently being investigated by both the Texarkana Texas and Wake Village Police Departments.
