U.S. Border Patrol Agent Killed

A U.S. Border Patrol agent, Rogelio Martinez, died Sunday morning as a result of injuries sustained while on patrol in the Big Bend Sector. He and his Big Bend Sector partner were responding to activity near I-10 at Van Horn. Agent Martinez’s partner reported that they were both injured and in need of assistance. Agent Martinez expired from his injuries. His partner remains in the local hospital in serious condition.
