U.S. DOJ Helping Public Safety Agencies

The U.S. Department of Justice is making $850 million available to help public safety agencies respond to the challenges posed by the outbreak of COVID-19. The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding program will allow state and local governments to apply immediately for these funds. Agencies may use the money to hire more personnel, pay overtime, cover protective equipment and supplies, and inmates medical care.
