United Way Of Lamar County Launches Its Annual Heater Drive

The United Way of Lamar County (UWLC) launched its Annual Heater Drive this week. You can drop off your donations of new space heaters at the UWLC office at 2340 Lamar Avenue in Paris or any Lamar National Bank location.

UWLC Executive Director Jenny Wilson explains, “As the temperatures drop, we get a lot of calls for space heaters. Many would be surprised to learn that many in our community do not have central heat.  We give out heaters to those in need as we receive donations of new heaters.  We want to do all we can to help those in need, especially when the temperatures drop below freezing.”

United Way del Condado de Lamar (UWLC, por sus siglas en inglés) lanzó su Campaña Anual de Calentadores esta semana. Puede dejar sus donaciones de calentadores nuevos en la oficina de UWLC en 2340 Lamar Avenue en París o en cualquier ubicación de Lamar National Bank.

La directora ejecutiva de UWLC, Jenny Wilson, explica: “A medida que bajan las temperaturas, recibimos muchas llamadas de calentadores de espacio. Muchos se sorprenderían al saber que muchos en nuestra comunidad no tienen calefacción central.  Entregamos calentadores a los necesitados a medida que recibimos donaciones de calentadores nuevos.  Queremos hacer todo lo posible para ayudar a los necesitados, especialmente cuando las temperaturas caen por debajo del punto de congelación”.
