If you like ‘Movies in the Park,’ this coming Thursday you can watch “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.” It starts at 8:00 pm in Bywater Park at 400 S Main. Bring your chairs or blankets and enjoy a free movie. There is a local vendor are you can bring your snacks.

The Deport Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Fourth of July Kids Fishing Tournament. The age groups are crawlers to age nine and ten to 16-year-olds. You have to be in line to weigh your live catch before noon and there hot dogs and prizes. The admission is free, and you can fish anywhere as long as it is legal. You’re asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Deport Food Pantry. Sign in starts at 6:00 am and ends at 10:00 Tuesday (Jul 4).
