The Jenny Burton-Rushin Memorial BBQ Cook-off is Saturday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds. Proceeds benefit Dylan’s Drivers and Paris P.D./Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. Categories for BBQ are Brisket, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Chicken, and Beans with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophy awarded. You must enter in all categories to be considered for Grand Champion.
Oktoberfest in Paris is this Saturday from noon until midnight at the Gibraltar Hotel in downtown Paris. Enjoy food, beverages and great music from Brave Combo and Alpine Village Band. Tickets are available at Olive Paris or Paris Oktoberfest dot com.
Texas Night Out is Tuesday (Oct 4) at the Love Civic Center Pavilion from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. It’s an opportunity to increase neighborhood spirit, fire safety, improve police-community partnerships and help keep the city safer. There are free hot dogs, drinks, and chips. A helicopter, fire trucks, police cars, ambulance, Sparky the Dog and more will all be there plus there will be giveaways including a bunch of bikes.
