UPDATE – Lamar County Man Killed, Wife Injured In Single Vehicle Crash

One person was killed and another transported to a hospital following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night in the 10,000-block of Hwy 271 in Deport. Authorities have confirmed that a  husband and wife from Deport ran off the road, hit a guardrail and overturned. Officials pronounced 53-year-old Ricky Lynn Jones dead at the scene and his 55-year-old wife, Edwina Kay Jones, was transported to the hospital where she was last listed in stable condition.
