Update On Texas A&M-Commerce Shooter

Jacques Dshawn Smith
Hunt County Jail

More information has surfaced about 21-year-old Jacques Dshawn Smith, of Rowlett, the man accused of murdering two sisters in a dorm room at Texas A&M-Commerce. Denton Police has charged him with Capital Murder in the slaying of Steven Daniels on New Year’s Eve. Also, Smith had been arrested on January 25 for allegedly assaulting one of the A&M-Commerce sisters, 20-year-old Abbaney Matts, with a frying pan and lamp but bonded out several days later.  He is now being held in the Hunt County Jail on a $2 million bond.
