Update: Red River County Jail Shooting

Authorities have disclosed the name of the man who was shot and killed earlier this month outside the Red River County Sheriff’s Office in Clarksville. Officials identified the man as Michael Chekel of Texarkana. Investigators say Chekel drove to the sally port and displayed first one and then two guns. He refused to put the guns down and was shot by two officers. Texas Rangers are investigating.
