Upshur County Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Capital Murder

Upshur County District Court convicted 43-year-old Carlton Grant of Capital murder. The court sentenced him to Life in Prison without the possibility of parole. Grant and his accomplice kidnapped and strangled 24-year-old Rachel Rhoads from a mobile home park. They then dumped her body on FM 726 near Hwy 154 and set it on fire. Grant’s co-defendant, 35-year-old Lindsay McFadden, is awaiting trial in the Upshur County Jail.
