Upshur County Man Loses Capital Murder Appeal

An Upshur County man convicted of murdering the mother of his child in the parking lot of the Gilmer Buckeye Football Stadium has lost his appeal with the 6^th Court of Appeals in Texarkana. Jonathan Ray Shepherd was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for shooting to death Cheyenne Green. The couple was said to be involved in a bitter custody dispute over their 3 year old son.
