Upshur County Sentences Dallas Man

An Upshur County jury sentenced Jud Waymond Smith, 68, of Dallas, to 75 years. The court found Smith guilty of bail jumping and failing to appear in court. District Attorney Billy Byrd said Smith had seven prior felony convictions, ranging from aggravated assault with a deadly weapon to retaliation against a police officer. Smith’s crimes started in the early 1980s.
