The University of Texas at Austin is tightening its admissions policy for high school seniors in Texas. Starting this year, the university will lower the automatic admission threshold from the top 6% to the top 5% of a student’s high school graduating class. The university is implementing the new top 5% threshold to manage the growing demand and ensure a more competitive admissions process.
