Van Zandt County Man Sentenced In Fatal Shooting

A Van Zandt County jury sentenced 46-year-old Dwight Dean Rosamond, of Grand Saline, to 35 years in prison for fatally shooting a man on his property. Rosamond claimed the victim, Rickey White, II, was prowling on his property and trying to steal something, giving Rosamond the right to use deadly force. The jury determined the victim was not a prowler and wasn’t trying to steal anything.
