Van Zandt Deputy Gets Plea Bargain In Obstruction Case

Twenty-eight-year-old Van Zandt County deputy Blake Snell entered into a plea agreement Wednesday in federal court on a charge of felony obstruction of justice and was sentenced to one year probation. Snell lied to Texas Rangers about not seeing Chief Deputy Steven Craig Shelton strike a detainee while handcuffed. Snell’s plea bargain includes his resignation.
