Summertime is the perfect time to plan a trip to the Broken bow area. With about 1600 cabins available for rent, you can plan a large gathering or an intimate trip. This area so popular because of the breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters. These cabins will be in short supply once school gets out.
Some of our staff stayed at Whisperwind Cabin on this trip and it was lovely. This two bedroom cabin, as with most, has a large stone fireplace, large kitchen and outdoor grill, and a big back porch with a hot tub and a fire pit. Mary Jane, the owner, makes sure you have everything you need.
Beavers Bend Creative Escapes has a very large selection of cabins, from one bedroom up to ones that sleep 49. They are the oldest and most established cabin rental company in the area. You can rent a cabin with a pool, or maybe you would rather be on a private pond, or you prefer a playground area, they can accommodate your every need.
Broken Bow lake is truly one of the most beautiful lakes in the southern United States. With 180 miles of shoreline, it spans over 20 miles and has some of the deepest and clearest water around.
The lake is surrounded by the tall piney Kiamichi wilderness, with picturesque rocky cliffs jutting through the forest. There are many flowing rivers and streams that course through the landscape. These supply an abundance of rainbow and brown trout.
On the lake you can catch several varieties of bass, along with channel catfish, crappie, walleye and sunfish. For a quick, inexpensive fishing trip, Beavers Bend Creative Escapes also offers hotel like cabins, or you can stay at the very popular Hochatown Lodge.
If your sweet tooth sends you into town, Whip.Poor.Will is a candy store on steroids. They have homemade fudge and an amazing variety of old-fashioned candies, along with Big Foot Pops.
