Warrant Issued For Man Hospitalized After Shooting

A felony arrest warrant has been issued for an unnamed Hopkins County man seriously wounded after he was shot by officers responding to an assault in the Reilly Springs area. The man fled the scene when officers arrived, and a short chase ensued to FM 1567. The suspect opened fire on deputies and state troopers who returned fire. He is currently listed in stable condition at a Dallas area hospital. Texas Rangers are handling the investigation.
