Brett Maher holds new NFL Record

NFL

After becoming the first player in any NFL game since 1932, a span of 16,207 regular-season and playoff contests, Cowboys Brett Maher still has his job after missing four extra point attempts. As a result, the Cowboys now go into the divisional round of the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers. They have the same kicker.

COLLEGE

Georgia football player Devin Willock was not wearing a seat belt when the crash ejected him from the vehicle in the weekend wreck that killed him and a recruiting staff member, police said. A police report released Tuesday listed excessive speed on the road with a 40-mph limit as one of the primary causes of the crash.

Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s track and field student-athlete J.T. Smith is this week’s Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week. Smith (Klein Oak) sprinted to a school-record time of 6.62 to win the 60-meter dash at the Corky Classic. The time is also second in the region and eighth in the country thus far this season.

HIGH SCHOOL
