Dirk Nowitzki will return to the American Airlines Center in Dallas tonight for one more celebration. He retired from the Mavericks in 2019, and the team will retire his number. Nowitzki is glad to have spent his 21-year career playing in the same city. He says he’s been staying busy taking care of his kids and traveling with his family, so he hasn’t spent much time reflecting on his career. Owner Mark Cuban says Dirk is “everything to the Mavs.” Cuban says that raising his jersey “to the rafters will be a special day” for the team and his fans worldwide.
