Weekend Red River Valley Activities.

The Sam Bell Maxey House is hosting a good, old-fashioned water balloon fight at 2 o’clock Saturday. There will also be a balloon toss, wild water balloon races, and yard games! Need more info? Call 903-785-5716.

From 8:00 until noon Saturday, there will be a free tire collection event for all Lamar County residents. The drop-off location is 220 North Main in the lot East of the big Lamar County Courthouse Parking lot. This event is for personal tires only, and no commercial tires are accepted. Chisum Trails Cowboy Church has its Annual Freedom Celebration at 3575 FM-2648 about 3.5 miles east of Camp Maxey Saturday at 7:00 pm. There will be a fish fry, a free concert from Jay Johnson, and the Spur Deep Band, followed by fireworks. For more info, call 903-249-2701.

The Second Annual Luke Early Auto Show will be held Saturday from 9:00 am- 2:00 pm at the Love Civic Center in Paris. Trucks, cars, ATV’s and semis are all invited. The entry fee is $20 per vehicle.

Dimple Community Center in Clarksville will have a hamburger supper Saturday at 6:00 pm to raise money for the Center. Donations will be accepted at the door.

The Paris Farmers and Artisans Market is open every Saturday through October from 8:00 am til 1:00 pm. There’s always a whole house of vendors on hand farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, bread, and much more. The market is Texas Department of Agriculture Certified. Vendors interested in selling produce or original art can visit the city of Paris website, www.paristexas.gov, for more information, or call 903-784-9293.
