Weekly Roadwork Report

TxDOT Paris District

June 20-26, 2021

These schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure, or other unforeseen issues. Therefore, motorists are advised to remain alert, pay special attention to all signs, barricades, and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.

Delta, Lamar, Red River Counties

FM 195, Red River County: from Lamar County Line to SH 37. Watch for temporary lane and shoulder closures while crews improve drainage structures and replace bridge rail. The shoulder at Little Pine Creek will remain closed while the rail work is completed.

FM 1487, Red River County: from FM 909 to FM 910. Watch for temporary lane closures while crews widen and rehabilitate the existing pavement and improve drainage structures.

FM 911, Red River County: from BU 82K (Avery) to FM 44. Watch for temporary lane closures while crews rehabilitate the existing pavement and improve drainage structures.

SH 37, Red River County: from US 271 (Bogata) to Franklin County Line. Watch for daytime lane closures as crews mill existing pavement, upgrading bridge rail, and place new hot mix.

BU 271D, Red River County: from US 271 to SP 38 (Bogata), you should watch for daytime lane closures while crews rehabilitate the existing roadway.

US 82, Red River County: from FM 1159 to Bowie County Line. Watch for daytime lane closures while crews place the final hot mix surface.  

Hopkins, Franklin Counties

I-30, Hopkins & Franklin Counties: From Titus County Line to Hunt County Line. Watch for lane closures, and short traffic delays as crews upgrade metal beam guard fence.

FM 71, Hopkins County: From FM 3236 to Sulphur Bluff. Watch for lane closures and short traffic delays as crews work on rehabilitating the roadway.

SH 19, Hopkins County: From Loop 301 to Delta County Line. Watch for lane closures, and short traffic delays as crews upgrade metal beam guard fence.

FM 3389, Hopkins County: From IH 30 to FM 1567. Watch for lane closures and short traffic delays as crews work on rehabilitating the roadway.

TxDOT Seeks Public Input on Bicycling Options

TxDOT is holding a virtual public meeting for cyclists.

AUSTIN — TxDOT Atlanta District will conduct a virtual public meeting to include a pre-recorded presentation containing both audio and visual components at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. 

Any interested persons may request this meeting be formalized into a public hearing by submitting a written request to Terri McCasland, at 701 E. Main St., Atlanta, Texas 75551, on or before Monday, June 22, 2021. If such a request is received, the public meeting held on June 29 will be rescheduled as a formal public hearing. 

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information regarding transportation projects and programs that might affect bicycle use in the state system within the Atlanta District. The Atlanta District comprises Bowie, Camp, Cass, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Titus, and Upshur counties. Shown will be a presentation of bicycle and pedestrian roadway accommodations during the virtual meeting, and participants will have the chance to provide written comments by mail or email.

Bowie County 

I-30 – From FM 989 to Arkansas State Line, widening the highway and reconstructing and widening the road. Eastbound traffic moved to the outside lanes.

SH 8 – At Sulphur River, work crews are replacing bridges.

SH 98 – At Anderson Creek, replacing the bridge. Workers are restricting all traffic to one lane with signal lights controlling traffic through the work zone.

Cass County 

SH 8 – At Sulphur River, replacing bridges.

FM 96 – From SH 77 to FM 2791, seal coating highway.

SH 8 – From FM 995 to 2.5 miles north of FM 995, seal coating highway. 

Harrison County 

I-20 – At Lansing Switch Road underpass, demolishing bridge over interstate in preparation of replacement.

US 59 – From one mile south of FM 1997 to FM 1793, installing safety barrier cable. Daily lane closures.

SH 43 – At Kansas City Southern Railroad in Karnack, widening the bridge over the railroad. Workers are restricting all traffic to one lane with signal lights controlling traffic through the work zone.

FM 1186 – From US 59 to Panola County Line, crews install safety end treatments on culverts. 

Marion County 

US 59 – From SH 49 to two miles north of SH 49, resurfacing highway. 

Morris County 

SH 49 – From Titus County Line to FM 144, repairing and resurfacing highway.

US 67 – At Boggy Creek, performing preventive maintenance on the bridge. Daily lane closures.

US 67 – From US 259 to Cass County Line, seal coating highway.

US 259 – From I-30 to US 67, seal coating highway. 

Panola County 

US 79 – From SH 149 to Rusk County Line, repairing and resurfacing highway.

US 59 (NE Loop) – From US 59 North to US 79 East, repairing and resurfacing highway. On and off-ramps at US 59 and NE Loop closed, traffic detoured accordingly.

SH 315 – From West Loop in Carthage to Rusk County Line, installing safety end treatments on culverts.

Titus County 

SH 49 – From FM 1735 to Morris County Line, repairing and resurfacing highway.
