White Oak is now the sixth town in East Texas to put water conservation in place. The preservation is a precaution. City officials say the water they get from Big Sandy Creek is already down seven feet. Jimmy Purcell, White Oak City Manager, says they’ll be okay and not panic. If people don’t reduce their use, the city may have to take more strict measures. One plan is to find another water source, but the starting cost would be $8.5 million.
