Wife, Man Charged With Fire Captain’s Murder

A Royse City woman and a Quinlan  man have been arrested in connection with the murder of her  husband, a Captain with the University Park Fire Department. Chacey Tyler Poynter is being held in the Rockwall County jail and  Michael Garza is in the Hunt County jail. Police found the body of Robert Poynter in his vehicle in the area of FM 35 and Hunt CR 2595.  He reportedly died from a single gunshot wound.  This is still an active investigation.
