Wildcats Resume Playoff Run Tonight Plus Other Basketball Action In Today’s Sports Update

Tonight the Paris Wildcats will take on the Van Vandals in the Area round of the playoffs. This is a rematch of a game earlier this season in which Paris won 57-53. Tonight’s game can be heard on 101.9 KBUS at 6:00 pm.

Also playing tonight is the Rivercrest Rebels. They will play at 7:00 pm against Wolfe City at Chisum High School.

Yesterday in softball, Chisum lost to Yantis 5-4 and then defeated Sam Rayburn 10-3.

Prairiland remains undefeated on the season as they beat Canton 9-0 and Winona 19-0.

In baseball, Trenton Smith pitched a no-hitter for the North Lamar Panthers as they defeated Winnsboro 5-0. Smith finished with one walk and 13 strikeouts.

Chisum lost to Hughes Springs 14-3 and then defeated Hooks 10-6.

Paris defeated Prairiland 8-2.

The Dallas Renegades are preparing for their second home game of the season this Sunday when they host the Houston Roughnecks. After dropping their first game of the season, Dallas has won two in a row on the road. Kickoff is at 3:00 pm in Arlington.

The Dallas Stars fell to Boston last night 4-3. Jamie Benn and Dennis Gurianov each scored their 19th goal of the season in the loss. Dallas is at St. Louis on Saturday night.

The Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s basketball team roared back from a first-half deficit with a nice comeback to earn a 69-55 win over Oklahoma Christian University in the Eagles’ Nest on Thursday evening. The Lions are now 17-10 overall and 13-8 in the LSC. The divisional champion Lions will close the regular season on Saturday at 4:00 pm at Arkansas-Fort Smith.

A&M-Commerce 72 – Oklahoma Christian 56

The No. 6 Texas A&M University-Commerce women’s basketball team clinched the top seed in the upcoming Lone Star Conference Championship with a 72-56 win over Oklahoma Christian University in the Eagles’ Nest on Thursday evening. The Lions are 26-1 overall and 20-1 in the LSC. The divisional champion and top-seeded Lions will close the regular season on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Arkansas-Fort Smith.
