A Wood County deputy was slightly injured after a vehicle pursuit he was involved in ended in a crash in Upshur County. The chase began when 38 year old Noel Arreon Weatherby, of Big Sandy attempted to evade the deputy after an attempted traffic stop. After the vehicles wrecked Weatherby fled on foot but was soon captured.  He was wanted on outstanding Smith County warrants and was a suspect in several Wood County burglaries. A pregnant passenger in Weatherby’s vehicle was transported by helicopter to a Tyler hospital as a precaution.
