Wood County Log Cabin Burns Down

Fire destroyed a two-story log cabin home Friday just west of Holly Lake Ranch in Wood County. The fire started in the laundry room, and the home flames quickly engulfed the structure. The homeowner managed to escape the fire, and there were no injuries. There were no fire hydrants near the home, and four tanker trucks shuttled water to the fire. Firefighters used about 30,000 gallons of water to battle the blaze.
